There are a bunch of social media around me now, but I have never analyzed about all of the media before I took this course. The reasons why I took it is that wanted to make use of it and by taking this course, I figured out specific things in each media content for my media environment. It was sometimes difficult to understand clearly, but when I got the home, I read the book to understand the things that I did not get. The most funniest topic in the class was about the internet and media law because by understanding the internet clearly, my marketing skill is supposed to be better and able to use it in appropriate situation. Additionally, media law was sort of controversial thing because I, who am from outside of the United State, thought about that in the United State, everything was free, but it is not. The First Amendment actually has the limit to cover their free depending on the situation they have. Especially, movie of Larry Flynt was good example. It was sort of shock for me little bit because he lost in the court because of the First Amendment several times. Finally, he could win but the first impression I had was like the United State is not freedom.
The good point I had was able to share the Japanese things on the blog and presentation. It would be much better if I could speak English smoothly. I could enjoy the class. Thank you for everything to my classmates and professor.

Media Law and Ethics
In Japan, Act on Protection of Specially Designated Secrets, which is sort of media law, is the most controversial issue and the most important thing for understanding it. Act on Protection of Specially Designated Secrets is the low that Japanese government enacted to protect some special information that they do not want outside of Japan to see, and to protect the country. In addition, this law is categorized by 4 departments such as defense, diplomacy, Prevention of Specified Harmful Activities and Prevention of Terrorist Activities. However, this law called SDS is ambiguous about how much range is legal and illegal and what they are doing inside of government so Japanese citizens are worried about being infringed on their rights to know and some of them concerned that the law can be influence content in Japanese media because media, especially journalists and reporters might lose their freedom of the press. If they lost it, who could get the information of the country. No one can even figure out what is going on the country. Which means, the government can monopolize the information and it might be dictatorship by taking their freedom of the press up from them even to protect the special information of the country. Additionally, people were demonstrating to try to stop passing this bill. So I would say that SDS is not good law if we see individual, I mean, for citizens. Japanese government should not maintain this law, and has to change the details of it for not only the country but also for the each citizens who are living there.

Propaganda techniques
This propaganda used in Japan to attract immigrants to Brazil around 100 years ago. Its slogan is "Let's go to South America with your family." because Japan used to be really poor county then. And some of them started thinking of making money in the different countries because there were no jobs. At the same time, Brazil needed some labors to make coffee, so Japanese government made it to facilitate immigrants using simple slogan and glittering generalities. However, most of people had never been to Brazil before, so they did not know about exact climate, wage and what was happening there. I would say that this propaganda also used half-truth because immigrants who went there were working a lot without almost no break, hit really hotter climate and got the low wage etc. However, they got successful there by cooperating each other, now over 1.5M Japanese Brazilian are living in brazil which is the biggest Japanese population outside of Japan. If government did not show this propaganda up to citizens then, it would not have occurred something like that.
This propaganda was published during World War 2. Japan built The Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere which Japan released the countries in Southeast Asia from occupying countries and tried to make new power for coexistence and co prosperity. This propaganda is saying "RISE OF ASIA" which is really simple and clear slogan. By drawing the giant who looks like Asian guy and showing a bunch of losers pictures bottom of the giant, I think that it wanted to show demonizing the enemy up to Asian people ti start thinking that Asia was strong, and could beat them. If it made them motivated to avoid from bad living condition, it might be good.

My Favorite Movie
My favorite movie is "The Wolf of Wall Street" which is 2013 movie. This movie is about how Jordan Belfort got successful as a stockbroker in wall street and how he went down his life. This movie has a bunch of sexual scene and violence words.
I think this is the movie for over 18. I really like this movie because the content of this movie is actually amazing. Some scenes are really serious, and some conversation that they are talking are useful for the business knowledge.
I recommend you to watch this if you don't mind about some insane scene.

The most influence book in my life
My most influence book that I have read is "Ryoma ga Yuku" which is Japanese book. "Ryoma" is the samurai who made a revolution in 1850s to 1860s in Japan and "ga Yuku" means "is going." This book is about his biography such as why he starts doing a revolution, how he did it and what he did. What I like about this book is Ryoma was always thinking about the future of Japan and he executed what he had to do for Japan. Actually one of the reason why I came to the United State is because of this book, because when I read this book, it makes me really motivated like going to the other country to see better culture and to learn from innovative countries. I learned so many things from this book and make use of my life from this book. If I did not read it, I might not have been in the United State.
Actually there is no translated book, but I really recommend on reading this book.

Power of Social Media and Japanese Media
Internet social media is the most important for the part of my life because I always get some information of my county or the United States from the social media like Facebook, Twitter and someone's blogs etc and sometimes I provide some information to some social media from me. For example, my original home county is Japan, so using not mediated media like newspaper is actually really difficult to get some information like what happened in Japan right now, what is Japanese trend and what Japanese government is doing or changing Japanese society etc because it may be going to be late to receive from it. However, using social media like Facebook and Twitter then collecting information from these are really fast to get information, because basically, in social media, people are always posting and sharing something, so we can get not only the information that we wanted, but also the information that we did not know. Which means by surfing social media, our knowledge will expand a lot, then at the same time, we can know what we want to know. Another example, in my career experience, online marketing is really important for part of companies. Once I post a event to some social media, every single people that are using internet can see the post that I posted, so the advertising effect is so as huge as we can not image. As a result, I really like internet anyways.
Television also has great advertising effect in some specific situation like for example, during super bowl. More than 110M people were watching TV in last year. Then, Tesla advertised commercial during super bowl, using $4M for 30 seconds. What happened is 110M people watched this Tesla ads, then Tesla got income more than this money that they spent. Some people said that TV is over. Now we can watch TV, using internet. However, Internet is still not being instead of TV like example of super bowl.
For me, Books, Newspaper and Magazine are same category, because I had not read these things after I could read these using internet. I loved book when I was small, but after I knew how to use internet, I stopped reading paper books, so now I actually do not like these media little bit especially magazine because of my country. In Japan, every writers have the rights to write what they want. Some people write exactly what is problem in Japan or something, but some of them do not tell us truth. For the customer, we do not know which information is correct or incorrect because of them. I guess this problem is not only Japan. So many countries happen some thing. I am not saying that do not write incorrect thing. I am saying that before you post something, you should think about wether or not it is correct or incorrect and how influence it is supposed to give people.
All social media should be meaningful. We have to figure out the situation of social media that we use, and are supposed to find better way that people think it is awesome.
